Accounts Payable Administrator – Brooklyn Academy of Music

WHO: Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), an internationally
recognized presenter of contemporary performing arts and cinema

SEEKING:  Full-time
Accounts Payable Administrator to process all vendor invoices and payments in a
timely fashion.


The AP Administrator will provide customer service to
vendors and BAM’s managers in order to accurately resolve payment issues and
disputes. The Accounts Payable Administrator reports to the Accounting Manager.

• Enter invoices and expense coding into the accounting

• Manage two computerized check runs per week (includes:
run payment reports, issue checks, secure appropriate authorizations, and
distribute payments)

• Reconcile invoices against vendor statements to ensure
all expenses are in system

• Act as liaison for vendors to follow up on status of
invoices and to ensure timely payments

• Add expense coding to institutional invoices and
distribute for departmental review

• Reconcile credit card statements as needed

• Maintain Accounts Payable files and records

• Prepare Credit Applications

• Process Annual 1099-MISC forms

• Assist with year-end audit & inspections of
Accounts payable activity

• Special Projects as directed by the Accounting Manager


• Bachelor’s Degree required (Degree in Accounting

• Basic accounting knowledge required

• Accounts Payable experience a plus

• Excellent knowledge of MS Word & Excel required

• Some knowledge of Multiview Financial Systems a plus

• Interest in working in a non-profit or performing arts
organizations preferred

• Must be detail oriented, dependable & professional

• Customer service skills

• Must be able to consistently process a large volume of
data within deadlines

• Possess excellent verbal, interpersonal and
organizational skills.

• Meticulous with detail

• Able to handle a large degree of confidentiality

BENEFITS: The salary for this position is in the low $30K
per year (a full benefit package is offered for this position).
