SEEKING: Araca Merchandise LP is hiring Sales Associates for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater’s 2011 Season at City Center in New York City.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Our Sales Associates must be friendly, outgoing, articulate, and adaptable, as well as have a knowledge and/or appreciation of dance.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Handling cash and credit transactions
• Assisting theater patrons with merchandise-related questions
• Counting, restocking and folding inventory
• Maintaining displays, merchandise arrangements, and kiosk appearance
• Following procedures set forth by Management
• Meeting and exceeding sales goals
• Representing Araca and the Alvin Ailey brand in a positive and professional manner

REQUIREMENTS: 

Qualified Sales Associates will have:
• One year of retail and/or sales experience
• A high school-level or equivalent diploma
• The desire to be a strong team-player
• Excellent interpersonal, creative problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• An understanding of urgency & speed in transactions, while maintaining accuracy
• The ability to lift a 50 lb. load

Tuesday: 5:30pm – 10:00pm
Wednesday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Thursday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Friday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Saturday: 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Saturday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Sunday: 1:30pm – 6:00pm
Sunday: 6:00pm – 10:30pm

Weeks Ending Dec. 25th & Jan. 1st:

Tuesday: 5:30pm – 10:00pm
Wednesday: 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Wednesday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Thursday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Friday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm
Saturday: 12:30pm – 5:00pm
Saturday: 6:30pm – 11:00pm (Dec. 24th), 5:30pm – 10:00pm (Dec. 31st)
Sunday: 6:00pm – 10:30pm

PAY: Compensation is $9 per hour, plus commission based on sales.
