SEEKING: The New York Musical Theatre (NYMF) seeks an Associate General Manager for its 2012 Festival, running July 9 – July 29, 2012. Hailed as the “Sundance of musical theatre,” NYMF is the largest musical theater event in America, supporting the next generation of musical theatre artists and launching the next generation of musical theater works.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Associate GM reports to the festival General Manager and aids supervision of the Assistant General Manager as well as the day to day operation of the General Management Office, while serving as a critical point person for all festival participants and staff. The Associate General Manager’s primary responsibilities include creating and managing contracts for creative teams and staff, venues, productions and insurance.
The position demands strong communication and organizational skills, as well as an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.  The Associate GM will assist the GM with hiring, training and supervision of Front of House staff and will help to reconcile daily cash ticket sales, concessions and box office settlements for multiple shows during the Festival, while working to create tools for financial analysis across the business.

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of ticketing software (OvationTix) is helpful and familiarity with standard office computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Quickbooks) is essential. Successful candidates will be self-starters able to work collaboratively and to maintain a sense of humor. Perseverance in creating systems and improving upon procedures is a must.

WHEN: This position is seasonal, but there is a great opportunity for growth as the Festival grows and expands its staff. The ideal candidate will commence employment in early March and will continue through mid September 2012.
