Audience Development Intern – MITF New Play

WHO: AG Theatrical Productions

SEEKING: an assistant to help promote new and original production for the Midtown International Theater Festival this summer. This is an unpaid position but a stipend may be provided for travel depending on the financial success of the production–a success that depends a lot on the work done in this position!!

Peking Roulette is written by Ben Thompson and directed by Anna Grace. Set in post-Olympics Beijing, our play is a strangely touching story of and older Western man and a not so young Chinese woman who are both seeking something they can't have. It was originally produced at the Beijing International New Play Festival in December 2009 and will make its US/New York premiere at the Midtown International Theater Festival.

Develop creative and effective marketing materials including press releases, flyers, posters, programs, etc.
Develop website and viral marketing (facebook, twitter, etc) to draw audiences in the New York area
Create promotional videos, emails, ads, broadcasts, etc.
Gather and manage email and other contact lists
Distribute marketing materials in strategic locations around the city
Contacting printers, investors, promoters, advertisers, media, etc.

Photoshop, InDesign, or other print media design experience
Final Cut, iMovie, or other video editing experience
Dreamweaver, Fireworks, WordPress, or other website development experience
Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, etc
Communication skills: written and oral
Hard-working and committed to the success of the show
Love of theater!!

WHEN: Interviews will begin mid-April. Rehearsals begin in May. The
festival is in July. Time commitment will be from April to end of July
(or early August depending on exact dates of the festival). Most of the
work can be done via internet and on your own time, but there will be
some office hours determined by your own availability. This position is ideal for a student looking to build both resume and
experience level.
