SEEKING: Company Managment, Technical, and Administrative Interns

Guild Hall’s 2011 Summer Season in East Hampton, NY will feature a three week run of Colin Quinn Long Story Short direct from Broadway in June, followed by a mixture of one night concerts, kid shows, outdoor and indoor films, cabaret, dance, celebrity staged readings, classical music, pop music, and more throughout July and August (including Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers performing An Evening of Bluegrass and Banjo, Celebrity Autobiography, Martha Graham Dance Company, Roseanne Cash, Cheyenne Jackson, Liz Callaway, Alec Baldwin hosting documentary film screenings with the Hamptons International Film Festival, and more.) Our season is very fast paced with a different show almost every night and interns should have dedication, good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a sense of humor. No pay but college credit, tons of experience in the industry, and incredible networking opportunities are available. Interns should be prepared to work at least 30-40 hours a week, and night and weekend availability is essential.



Administrative Intern –
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist in marketing/PR
Assist in group sales
Assist General Manager in contacting visiting artists/agents for travel, housing, and press coordination
Create flyers and posters for upcoming shows and distribute
Maintain lobby concessions including purchasing, inventory, coordinating volunteer staff, tracking profits
Assist house manager at certain performances

Company Management Intern –
Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist visiting actors, artists, and performers with needs during rehearsals
Assist visiting actors, artists, and performers with arrivals, transportation to and from train and bus stations, guest houses, and theater (all in East Hampton)
Assist with turnover of guest house(s) including cleaning, laundry, meeting guests upon arrival, etc
Maintain dressing rooms and backstage kitchen
Assist house manager at certain performances

Technical Crew Intern –
Duties include but are not limited to:
Stage Management for one night engagements (staged readings, music, kids shows, films, lectures)
Follow spot operation
Assisting lighting and sound designers
Assisting crew with load-ins and strikes
Deck crew for plays and one night engagements
Occasional basic carpentry/props management

REQUIREMENTS: Local housing and a car are necessary for this internship

WHEN: Dates are flexible: Mid May or Early June – Late August or Early September
