Director of Development- York Theatre

WHO: York Theatre Company

SEEKING: Director of Development

RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and oversee the fundraising program; Identify, cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies; Develop and maintain close working relationships with the philanthropic and interested corporate community; Take the lead role in our highly successful Benefits, the Oscar Hammerstein Award and the NEO Event, in addition to arranging and managing donor receptions and other events and activities; Create new planned giving program; Further develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan: a major gift program, foundation grants and corporate funding opportunities; Oversee existing staff and systems to support fundraising activities including an accurate and efficient system for maintaining donor and potential donor data; Partner with Senior Staff to strategically grow development on all levels.

REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter with several years of fundraising experience, a successful track record of raising funds and the proven ability to identify, cultivate and solicit major individual and corporate donors. You are an excellent writer able to think creatively and “outside the box” in helping the York reach a new level of success.
