Director of Entertainment
Responsible for planning and researching concept ideas for shows, coordinating all creative contractors including script writers, directors, producers, scenic designers and costumes designers, music coordination, rehearsal
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following: (Other duties may be assigned)
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Develop short and long-range plans for future show creation and direction
§ Maintain creative and artistic quality of existing shows and consumer events
§ Develop, direct and implement elements for new shows, projects, or events
§ Research and development of creative aspects for department needs
§ Attend and direct meetings
§ Train and work with creative staff
§ Budgeting and tracking of expenses and labor for production areas
§ Coordination of show elements with Operational Managers
§ Oversee the maintenance needs and cleanliness of performance venues
§ Office duties
EXPERIENCE:
§ Must have at least 7 years of theater experience and at least 3 years of theme park entertainment Manager experience with creative development experience
§ Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
§ Possess hands-on capability for production and direction for shows
§ Confident and dynamic presenter with the ability to build technical Power Point presentations possess the ability to follow through on short and long-range goals
§ Possess the ability to interview and evaluate talent for appropriate performance positions
§ Must represent department and park appropriately to all internal and external customers
§ Possess the ability to manage all aspects of show changeouts
§ Possess the ability to maintain and insure maintenance by others of the artistic intent of shows
EDUCATION:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts or related field or equivalent professional experience
§ Special skills in performing arts field or experience in live performance; music, dance or performance knowledge
