WHO: Theatre for a New Audience

SEEKING: Education Director

RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and oversee all residencies for the World Theatre Project and the New/Young Voices program; hire, train and oversee teaching artists; write curriculum guides; plan and lead training for teaching artists; plan and conduct professional development sessions; develop and implement new and expanded education initiatives in preparation for the Theatre opening its new facility in Brooklyn; lead Theatre’s efforts to explore potential university partnerships; represent TFANA at meetings with funders; plan and moderate TFANA Talks post-performance talkbacks, as well as talkbacks following student matinees; work with Development Department to create and submit grant proposals and reports.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of five years’ experience in teaching and administering arts in education programs of comparable scope; extensive knowledge and understanding of the plays of Shakespeare; experience with marketing programs to the public schools and cultivating partnerships; strong relationships with the New York City Department of Education, individual Public Schools, teaching artists, and scholars; proven track record in leadership and mentorship of staff and teaching artists; experience in monitoring panel discussions and talkbacks; comprehensive knowledge of the arts education field; and superior writing and presentation skills.
