SEEKING: Publicity Intern

RESPONSIBILITIES: Glenna Freedman Public Relations is a publicity firm specializing in Broadway and Off-Broadway shows; authors; celebrities and not-for -profit organizations. Interns will assist in publicizing The Town Hall, Volunteers of America and upcoming Broadway and Off Broadway productions. Glenna Freedman has been in the business for over two decades and is highly regarded in the industry.
Interns work involves direct contact with the media, arranging and covering press interviews, writing and editing press releases, assisting in special event planning, and general office duties which include: answering phones, filing, e-mail blasts, updating lists and dealing with social media.
Media contact also includes arranging coverage on TV and radio shows, as well as creating newspaper and magazine stories. The program is ideal for interns majoring in communications, journalism, theater or English.

REQUIREMENTS: Interns should have a general interest in theatre and communications. Excellent communication, computer and writing skills are a must.No previous experience necessary, although desired. This is a great opportunity to start in the business.
