Sponsorship Manager

WHO: Signature Theatre Company

SEEKING: Signature Theatre Company, one of New York's leading off-Broadway theatres, seeks a Sponsorship Manager to lead the corporate fundraising program as it transitions to its new three theatre home on 42nd Street: Signature Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the Director of Development, this position will be responsible for managing the expansion of Signature's current base of corporate support, through delivery of a corporate fundraising strategy which includes: Advancing the theatre's relationships with current sponsors, preparing timely review documents and compelling renewal proposals. Identifying, cultivating, and securing new major long-term corporate support for Signature seasons, productions, ticket initiative, gala events and capital campaign. Maximizing all opportunities for generating corporate income, including matched giving from Signature’s Patrons, corporate hire of the Signature Center space and effective marketing of the sponsorship program. Liaising with the Board of Trustees to foster relationships with their corporate contacts. Providing an outstanding level of service to corporate funders – ensuring delivery of timely, personalized benefits and recognition. 

REQUIREMENTS: Ideal candidate will have a proven track-record in high level corporate fundraising, with three plus years experience of stewarding sponsor relationships, understanding corporate branding, hospitality and business development objectives and writing compelling sponsorship proposals aligned with these objectives. Essential attributes also include the ability to think strategically and creatively; outstanding communication skills – in person, in writing and over the phone; to work effectively under pressure and meet challenging goals; and to be proactive in establishing effective working relationships with staff, Trustees and corporate executives. Signature maintains a commitment to hiring individuals with a demonstrated ability to work effectively both formally and informally amongst a diversity of communities and cultures. Knowledge of / passion for theatre also desirable. Bachelor’s degree required.
