WHO: aka New York
SEEKING: aka is currently seeking interns for all departments:
DIGITAL- This department creates digital campaigns to raise awareness, engage fans and drive ticket sales. Along with general support of the digital team in planning, implementation and evaluation of campaigns and promotions across all productions, interns will be required to conduct research and brainstorm for current and future projects, outreach to bloggers and websites, Social Media communication and maintenance, implementation of Social Initiatives, tracking and organizing media purchases, perform errand runs, and other duties as required.
CLIENT SERVICES- This department develops and executes a variety of Broadway & off-Broadway campaigns. Responsibilities would include filing system for collateral samples, filing organization: creating and maintaining a show bible for each show, media/ periodical archive organization, act as a liaison for the Street Team, gathering screen shots, examples of media that is running in the market, helping with media outreach, new media ideas, etc. that we can consider for our shows.
MARKETING & PROMOTIONS– This department creates direct marketing campaigns to raise awareness and drive ticket sales. Along with general support of the marketing team in planning, implementation and evaluation of partnerships and promotions across all productions, interns will be required to conduct research for current and future projects, participate in campaign promotions, update promotions and marketing database, log and messenger trade tickets, log and confirm ticket voucher, create artwork briefs, and perform errand runs.
BOX OFFICE & TICKETING-This department closely monitors and analyzes ticket revenue to ensure that every aspect of our campaigns is driven by sales. Responsibilities include update an array of sales reports under strict deadlines, develop an understanding of the Broadway industry, specifically the advertising and group sales sectors, compile competitive pricing spreadsheets, meeting preparation, ticket pick-up and distribution, coordination of street team for various clients, and general clerical/organizational support
MERCHANDISE- This department is heavily involved with the Marketing, Advertising and Digital programming offered to aka’s roster of high-profile clients. In addition, aka supports the excellent work we do in managing all aspects of a Broadway merchandise operation. Responsibilities include preparing and collating weekly reports, data entry, printing and copying materials as needed, fulfillment of internet orders, coordinating with other departments within aka, offering support to in-theatre merchandise managers as necessary, organization and maintenance of files, merchandise samples, office supplies/etc., creation and upkeep of vendor database, design and maintenance of industry-wide merchandise database, running errands as needed, and assisting with new business planning.
GENERAL OFFICE ADMIN- Responsibilities include research, support reception, general clerical/organizational support, meeting preparation, ticket pick-up and distribution, coordination of street team for various clients, helping to plan and attending promotional events, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Interns will not only be a vital part of everyday office operations but will also be exposed to all different aspects of the industry in bi-weekly educational seminars with various guest speakers.
REQUIREMENTS: All candidates must be highly organized, posses strong communication, writing and problem solving skills, be PC computer literate, comfortable in Word and Excel, able to multitask, and have an interest in the theatre.
WHEN: Winter Program with Monday thru Friday 9:30am to 6:00pm.
PAY: Weekly stipend available.
