A Free Panel on How To Raise Money for Off Broadway Shows . . . and I’m on it!
The Off Broadway Alliance always tackles the hard topics.
On Sunday, September 28th, the OBA is holding one of their informational monthly panel discussions . . . but this one is about the question on everyone’s mind . . . “How do I raise money for my Off Broadway show?” And the panel of producers that will tell you just how they do it will include Robert Driemeyer (Forbidden Broadway), Meredith Lucio (Bedlam’s Hamlet and Saint Joan, The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess) and little ol’ me! And the discussion is moderated by a producer and crackerjack marketer of his own, Hugh Hysell (who is also now the National Broadway and Live Arts Lead for that tiny coupon company known as Groupon).
As you probably know, raising money is one of my favorite topics to talk about. I have a seminar about it, I wrote a book about it, so if you put me on a panel give me some free donuts, I’m as happy as a . . . producer whose show has recouped! (The free donut thing is no joke – the panel starts at noon, but the generous folks at the OBA open the doors at 11:30 and feed you full of crullers and coffee).
And did I mention that this panel is free?
So come one, come all, just make sure you register in advance. This is a super popular topic so I’d imagine this panel will “sell” out. Click here to sign up. And do me a favor, don’t be a tuba and sign up and don’t go. Lots of folks need this advice. If you sign up and we sell out, you’ll be preventing someone else from going. So if you sign up, commit like you’ve committed to raising money for your show . . . with all you’ve got.
And I’ll see you on the 28th! (Make sure you say hi after!)
