Best ideas for a Bachelorette Party in New York City.
Because I created The Awesome 80s Prom, one of the most successful Bachelorette Party destinations in New York City, people are always asking me for the next big idea for a great Bachelorette Party.
Now, as a dude, I’ve been to my share of Bachelor parties. Including my own. And having produced The Prom, I’ve seen my share of Bachelorette Parties.
Guess who has more fun?
The ladies.
When you’re planning a Bachelorette Party in New York or Boston or anywhere, for that matter, it’s important to follow these three simple steps.
- Find out what the bride wants to do.
- Do what the bride wants to do.
- Have fun doing what the bride wants to do.
It’s about her, so suck it up and make it about her. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can subtly suggest some awesome ideas that you’d like to do as well!
Here are a few of my favorites:
That Bachelorette Show is the latest Bachelorette party hot spot in New York City. Held at the chic club 42 West every Saturday Night at 8 PM, That Bachelorette Show is an Off Broadway spoof of your favorite reality romance shows like The Bachelor and Temptation Island and all that addictive stuff, but it’s set to a soundtrack of your favorite radio hits, spun by star guest DJs. The story? After 8 years and no ring, Adriana Orlando just broke up with her high school sweetheart, Giovanni Giovanni. Desperate for a new start, she’s putting her love life in the hands of That Bachelorette Show, where she’ll meet some of the most eligible and spoof-tastic bachelors in the world!
It’s a great, funny, unique evening that combines all the elements that a Bachelorette Party would want – a club, a show, and a bunch of great looking guys that aren’t going to hit on you all night long. Unless you want them to. 🙂
2. Stand up Comedy Clubs
If your party isn’t a dancing crowd, then try a stand up comedy club where you can drink and laugh and carry on like crazies until the wee hours of the morning. This is a great option for the more chill crowds, but can still be a great “adult” evening. BIG TIP: Want some extra attention for the bride-to-be? Sit in the front row. She’ll get picked on in the best way possible.
3. Broadway Shows
Broadway can be expensive, but nothing beats it for its originality, its diversity, and the classiness. A Broadway bachelorette party can be one of the most upscale parties around. Couple it with a fancy dinner before at a steak house like Frankie & Johnny’s on 45th St (steak isn’t all for dudes, you know), and you’ve got a pricey evening that’ll pay back in spades. Check out sites like www.BachelorettesOnBroadway.com for info on great show opportunities. Discount tickets can also be found if you google around.
Those are my top three ideas for great Bachelorette Party ideas in New York City. Enjoy ’em, and be safe. Remember, what happens in New York City, is usually recorded on someone’s cell phone and used as blackmail the next day. 🙂
Party on!
