Broadway Grosses w/e 5/26/2019: Record-Breaking Season Finale
For the final week of our 2018-2019 Broadway season, grosses were up about 2%, contributing to a record-breaking season. Overall, the industry bested last year by 7% (even with one fewer play week) with a total gross of $1.829 billion.
Amongst this season’s crop, Hadestown stands out with a $161 average ticket price, pulling in 110% of gross potential. Right behind is Ain’t Too Proud, which, in a bigger house, has even larger overall numbers and a very respectable $138 average ticket.
