In case you couldn’t figure it out, that was NOT a call for a doctor, but rather an e-drum roll, because it’s time to announce the 2013 Broadway Producer of the Year!

Your votes have been counted . . . and oooooohhhhh boy, this was the closest race we’ve ever had.  Only a handful of votes separated the winner and the oh-so-almost winner.

But before we crown this year’s POY, let’s bring back the nominees!

This year’s nominees for Broadway Producer of the Year were Neil Meron & Craig Zadan, Cameron Mackintosh, Howard Panter, Daryl Roth & Hal Luftig, and Glenn Weiss & Ricky Kirshner (It was the year of producer partnership).

And now, bring back those dr-dr-dr-dr-dr-dr-drs, because it’s time to announce the winner . . . of the 2013 Broadway Producer of the Year . . . and that winner is . . .

DARYL ROTH & HAL LUFTIG!

Congratulations to the dynamic duo behind the phenom that is Kinky Boots!  Your actual awards are on their way to your office . . . and I’m sure they’ll look great next to those Tonys.  🙂

It was a fantastically strong field this year of unique producers with unique projects . . . and I’m predicting an even more interesting slate next year so stay tuned.
