And the $500 winner of the 4th Annual Davenport 10 Minute Play Contest is. . .

Today’s the day!  We’re giving out $500 smackeroos!!!  That’s like 1/4 of a ticket to Hamilton, people!

Before we show someone the money, I must give huge props to our ten finalists for writing some of the best ten minute plays I’ve ever seen.  They were terrific.  If you haven’t read them yet, click here to do so.

What’s cool is that so many of you DID read them!  We got a ton of votes from all of you . . . and we counted those along with the votes from our superstar judges including Portland Center Stage Artistic Director Chris Coleman and Agency for the Performing Arts Agent Beth Blickers . . . and we came up with a winner.

And that winner is . . .

Drumroll please . . .

Another drumroll please . . .

Cuz I really like drumrolls . . .

The winner is . . .

Congratulations, Chris!  You’re the winner of the 4th Annual Davenport 10 Minute Play Contest!  And oh yeah, you’re getting $500.  Woo-hoo!!!  We’ll be in touch on getting you your $$$.

Chris won for his play Jolly Wally.  You can read it here.  And you should.  It’s good.  And funny.  And worth even more than $500.

Big thanks to all of you for reading, submitting and just plain supporting new Writers.  Because without Writers . . . theaters would be parking lots.
