SEEKING: Assistant Head Rigger

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Assist the Head Rigger with leading and supervising the Rigging team in establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operations and maintenance of all show rigging systems and acrobatic rigging equipment for each performance; assist with advising all departments on matters of overhead safety and fall protection; assist with running performances and rehearsals; work with the Artistic Director on changes and ongoing development of the show; maintain training and backup plans; assist in overseeing emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical teams; assist in adhering to all OSHA regulations and maintain safety procedures for staff; assist in maintaining a safety guide for all rigging operations; document and assist in maintaining and updating the rigging installation specifications, inventory of rigging and acrobatic material and equipment and all pertinent inspection and maintenance records; perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years experience working as an Assistant Head Rigger for a large-scale theatrical or concert production with experience in conventional theatrical rigging; ETCP certification preferred or willing and able to become ETCP certified; prior experience with motorized and manual rigging systems and acrobatic rigging installations; knowledge of rigging systems & hardware and fall protection systems & hardware a must; knowledge of sport climbing hardware is an asset; ability to withstand exposure to chlorinated water and swim with a level of comfort; knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is an asset; must have experience and be comfortable working at high elevations in a theatrical environment; must possess excellent problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills with proven talents in leadership and management, safety, and teamwork; must possess good written and verbal communication skills; good knowledge of PC based systems and MS Office software; must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and long hours; must be able to work around live birds, strobe lighting and smoke effects.
