Broadway Grosses w/e 5/31/2026

Broadway saw a pre-summer softening last week with total grosses falling 8.34% to $37.31M and attendance dipping to 320,908. The Lion King led the pack at $2.01M, while Hamilton held strong at $1.87M. Death of a Salesman boasted an impressive $1.82M, and Every Brilliant Thing dropped sharply from its season-closing high to $1.14M in the first week after Daniel Radcliffe’s departure. Oh, Mary! remained a reliable earner at $1.45M, MJ held near $1.48M, and Ragtime continued its steady run at $1.32M to a full house. The Rocky Horror Show had a strong week, jumping $91K to $1.11M, The Lost Boys remained strong at $1.26M, and The Book of Mormon returned to the stage at the O’Neill after its fire-related hiatus, grossing $650K on a partial week.

Among the week’s notable declines, Moulin Rouge! The Musical fell $167K to $928K, Stranger Things: The First Shadow dropped $199K to $812K, and The Great Gatsby shed $122K to $863K as the post-season reset hit broadly across the roster. Wicked eased to $1.34M and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child slipped to $1.04M as premium pricing softened heading into summer. Compared to the same opening week of last season, grosses were down 16.99%, though the comparison is skewed by last year’s stronger carryover. With 40 productions on the boards and no new shows yet in previews, the new season is off to a measured start.
