Broadway surged 12.50% to $34.86M with attendance jumping to 273,061 at an impressive 94% capacity across 30 productions – meaningfully ahead of the same week last year, up 10.40% with attendance climbing 10.68%, a sign that summer tourism is driving genuine demand rather than just calendar timing. The Lion King led all shows at $2.43M on a nine-performance week, while Hamilton followed closely at $2.34M at just over 101% capacity. Death of a Salesman remained a dominant presence at $2.23M on a seven-performance week to a sold-out Winter Garden, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child jumped $325K to $1.89M. MJ climbed $131K to $1.93M, and Ragtime hit $1.63M at a full Beaumont. Schmigadoon! surged $187K to $1.21M, and Cats: The Jellicle Ball rebounded $365K to $1.19M at over 101% capacity. Wicked jumped $149K to $1.43M, and The Lost Boys climbed $213K to $1.49M.
The summer lift was broad, with most of the roster posting gains. Moulin Rouge! The Musical rebounded $249K to $1.07M, Aladdin jumped $319K to $1.33M, and The Great Gatsby climbed $141K to $935K. The Outsiders crossed $1M at full capacity, and Operation Mincemeat nearly sold out the Golden at $684K. Joe Turner’s Come and Gone closed on July 26 after a strong run at the Barrymore, going out on a high note at $1.18M at nearly 100% capacity.
