Broadway Grosses w/e 6/16/2019: Hadestown Rivals Hamilton
In the first week following the Tonys telecast, the trophy winners saw jumps in their grosses. Hadestown, The Ferryman, and Oklahoma! especially benefitted from their big wins. Both musicals play in small houses, so their increase is most evident in their average ticket price, which for Hadestown reached $172 (second only to Hamilton).
Most shows saw increases last week, but the biggest gains were earned by shows who had the most exposure on the Tony Awards.
