Broadway Grosses w/e 7/14/2019: We Are Powerless
If you live in New York City, you likely heard about the midtown blackout on Saturday night that shut down all Broadway shows west of Broadway. Well, the results are in, and they’re not pretty. In a week that is typically the peak of summer tourist season, grosses took a 10% hit compared to the previous Fourth of July week (a traditionally soft summer week).
Burn This, which was spared from the outage, ended their limited engagement on a high at $897K. Beetlejuice was also spared last week and increased their grosses, nearly breaking into the million-dollar club.You can find the rest of the figures below, courtesy of The Broadway League:
