Broadway Grosses w/e 7/28/2019: Let’s Go to the Movies
Last week overall grosses were nearly steady at $33.8M. Strong summer attendance and last chances to see several productions closing in August are keeping the box office even.
Movies are king this week on Broadway, with The Lion King reaching $2.77M for nine performances. Disney’s movie bump is also felt by Aladdin, which continues to best its year over year numbers. And a new movie-turned-musical, Moulin Rouge!, officially opened last week and I have a feeling it has some major numbers in store for us. Watch this space to find out.
