Broadway Grosses w/e 8/26/2018: Goodbye, Dolly!
For the second week in a row grosses dropped 5%, dipping $1.8M to a total gross for all shows of $33,662,782. With Springsteen on Broadway down to four shows, the average ticket dropped by a few dollars to $131.81.
Most shows felt large drops this week with the notable exceptions of Pretty Woman, a final bow from Hello, Dolly!, and Hamilton, who managed to squeak out an impressive $134k increase from last week’s typical sell-out.
Many shows, especially tourist favorites, are seeing their lowest grosses since the Tony Awards. Fingers crossed that this week’s upcoming three-day weekend brings in flocks of ticket buyers.
