Choreographer/Dance & Yoga Teacher – The Play Group Theatre

WHO: The Play Group Theatre

SEEKING: The Play Group Theatre, a Westchester based company dedicated to providing theatre training and diverse performance opportunities to children and teenagers, is seeking a Choreographer/Dance & Yoga Teacher for our upcoming summer program. PGT Summer Theatre is a daytime theatre intensive program, offering three week and six week sessions in July and August, in White Plains, NY.

We are seeking artists who possess imagination, flexibility and the desire to work with children and teenagers of varied ages in a creatively charged and artistically demanding, yet nurturing environment. Applicants must be prepared to work as a member of a strong creative team, and to work quickly towards the end goal, while still giving focus to the artistic process.

RESPONSIBILITIES: PGT Summer Theatre includes daily classes and rehearsals, with performances in the 3rd and 6th week, along with two trips and several camp-wide creative activities. PGT Summer Theatre is a seven week commitment, including one staff week and six weeks of camp.

REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate holds a BFA or MFA in Dance and can teach a variety of dance styles as well as Yoga. Applicants must have experience teaching a wide range of ages and abilities, including Creative Movement for 4-6 year olds and Theatre Dance & Yoga for elementary, middle and high school age students. Choreography responsibilities will include working on several different shows at once, with ensembles of different ages and abilities.

Camp is held Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm at PGT's new facility, just a few blocks from the White Plains Metro North train station.

PAY: Competitive salary
