How this 16-year old girl taught ME to take action. So I’m doing THIS.
16-year old Savanna Shaw can sing. Like really sing. Like 40-million-views-on-YouTube-and-counting sing.
But that’s not what impressed me.
When I invited Savanna and her dueting-dad, Mat, on my livestream way back in March, it wasn’t because of the # of views on her viral videos . . . it was how she got those videos.
In the early days of the pandemic, she missed music. And she missed her friends.
So she thought she’d connect with them by making a music video.
But she was nervous. A bit scared.
Most people would have stopped right there. And let their fear win.
But instead, she asked her dad to join her, summoned up every ounce of courage she could . . . hit record, and then hit . . . upload.
She put herself out there.
And the world went crazy.
Millions of views, fans like Kelly Clarkson, appearances on Good Day New York, and a brand new CD that is charting higher than Josh Groban on the pre-order charts . . . it all happened, and fast.
There was only one thing that they didn’t have.
But we’ll get to that.
Savanna sent me that CD in the mail. And I went nuts for it.
And, I don’t know if this is what she had in mind when she sent it to me, but I asked, “Would you like to do your first live virtual concert?”
If she was nervous this time, she didn’t show it. She, and her Dad, just said yes.
And so, it is my honor to be producing the first ever concert of Mat and Savanna Shaw on Saturday November 28th at 8 PM ET. Live. Virtual. So everyone who has caught a glimpse of this duo can have a chance to tune in.
Expect those classic covers that millions have fallen in love with over the last nine months. Expect an original or two, and some holiday tunes as well.
Oh, and expect some Broadway faves as well. Because, well, Savanna would like to do something here someday.
And did I tell you that Sierra Boggess is directing? 🙂
It’s going to be a special show. And, well, if you’ve been following me for my career, you can expect to see what I’ve grown most fond of producing . . . a show with a heck of a lot of smiles, with a shot of joy on the side.
Get your ticket for Mat and Savanna’s concert, “What The World Needs Now,” on 11/28 at 8 PM ET, here.
