If You’re a Broadway Co-Producer, This One’s for You

Let me say something I don’t think gets said enough.

Broadway wouldn’t exist without co-producers.

Full stop.

We all know what it costs to put a show on in 2026. Because of co-producers, lead producers can subcontract out a piece of the financing and focus on the material, the marketing, the relationships – all the things that actually make a show work. That’s not a small thing. That’s the whole model.

But here’s what I also know: the money is only part of it. Co-producers bring counsel. They bring marketing ideas. They make introductions for sponsorships. They call you on a Tuesday when the news is hard and say, “We’re going to get through this.” And sometimes . . . that punch in the arm is the most valuable thing in the room.

So: thank you. Genuinely.

Now here’s the honest part.

I think co-producers often get the short end of the producing stick. And I want to change that, not just for the people already doing it, but for everyone who should be. Because here’s what I believe: the world is a better place when there’s more theater in it. And there’s only more theater in the world when co-producers keep saying yes.

So we built something.

It’s a survey, designed specifically to evaluate the co-producer experience on Broadway. What’s working. What isn’t. What would make you more likely to do it again.

We’re going to take those results and share them publicly. Because if we understand what the co-producer experience actually looks like from your side, we can all make it better – lead producers, general managers, all of us.

If you’re a co-producer on any Broadway show, I want to hear from you. Fill out the survey here.

More voices means better data. Better data means a better experience. And a better experience means more Broadway shows, folks.

What would make your co-producer experience better? The survey is where to tell us.
