Ken’s Producing Resources

The following is a list of the resources, services and products that are part of my “Producer Toolkit” and I recommend them for yours.

INTERNET MARKETING

GoDaddy – Everything you need to register your domain name and host your website.

Mailchimp – Email marketing is the most effective and efficient way to reach your customers.  Mailchimp is the most effective and efficient email client out there.  The social integration features particularly stand out.

Typepad – I chose TypePad to host my blog, because I figured if it was good enough for Seth Godin and Malcom Gladwell, it was good enough for me.  It’s more than good enough.

TweetAdder – Looking to add qualified followers to your twitter en masse?  Check out TweetAdder.

PRWeb – Need to get a press release out to the entire world (wide web) and don’t have a press agent?

Google Analytics – The ultimate stats machine for your website.  And it’s free.  If you don’t have it installed on your website, then you don’t really have a website.

PRINTING

4over4.com – Need postcards, postcards, etc. and need them fast?  4over4 has the coolest ordering system around, and they’ll have postcards on your doorstep in 48 hours.

VistaPrint – You can’t beat VistaPrint’s prices or their vast product list.  My business cards are printed on VistaPrint.

PRODUCTIVITY

Salesforce – This CRM cloud computing software has been responsible for a drastic increase in my conversions.  It helped me get through the economic crisis.

Kindle – I read a lot of scripts, but I only have to carry one Kindle.  Not only do I read more, but when I travel, my bags aren’t overweight anymore!

Toodledo
– I spent 2 entire days looking for the best To Do list on the web, and ToodleDo won out.  Folders, lists, iPhone Ap.  I’ve gotten more done because of ToodleDo.

Elance – Looking for a logo?  A web designer?  An accountant?  Elance connects freelancers from all over the world looking for work.  Elance providers have literally saved us over $10,000.

WRITING

Final Draft – Writing a script in Final Draft will help you finish your script faster.  That simple.

The Writer’s Journey – Need a blueprint for your show or screenplay?  This book is the modern bible for dramatic structure.  I keep a copy on my desk and consult it whenever I’m in a plot pickle.
