Our Harmony Rush: 18 tickets for $18. But why?
This week, we announced that Harmony: A New Musical will be offering 18@$18.
At each and every performance, we’ll be offering a special in-person rush offer: 18 tickets for $18 each.
But why $18?
Well, first, I love an accessible offer. I remember back when Cameron Macintosh introduced $15 tickets for Phantom and Les Miz and I was all over it. So anything under $20 is good by me.
But when we were talking about exactly how to price it, one of the Jewish members of my advertising and marketing team reminded me of the significance of chai.
Before working on Harmony, I didn’t know what chai was. It was one of my investors who taught me about it first, back when she told me she wanted to invest an amount that ended in 18. And then she explained it to me. (One of the things I’m so grateful for is the opportunities I’ve had to produce shows like Harmony, Deaf West’s Spring Awakening and so many more that have taught me so much. I like to say that I produce what I don’t know, so I can learn.)
If you’re wondering what chai means, click here. Ashley gave a wonderful explanation of the significance of the number.
And then, starting tomorrow, October 18th (there it is again), head on over to the Barrymore Theatre (243 W 47th St. New York, NY 10036) when the box office opens at 10am to get your ticket for our very first preview!
(Oh – and if you’re up early and end up lining up outside the theatre before it opens, snap a photo to your story and tag me @kendavenportbway!)
