ABOUT THE EPISODE:

The term jukebox musical is now a pejorative description of any musicals that contain pre-existing music.

And it’s also a misnomer.

There are several different buckets of musicals that contain pre-existing music, and in this podcast, I break down my three different distinctions.

And I also make a case as to why many deserve a lot more respect than they are given.

My mission is to get more people talking about the theater.  The more people talking about it, the more people who want to make it, perform it, support it, etc.  And that’s how theater not only survives, but thrives.

The biggest compliment you can give me is by sharing this podcast.

I thank you and the theater thanks you!
