The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to Mothers and Sons on Broadway!
I told you today’s giveaway was for a show that was close to me!
Today I’m giving away two sweet seats to my latest Broadway Production, Mothers and Sons, by the incomparable Terrence McNally. (If you want to see a list of 10 Reasons why I’m Producing M&S, click here.)
So how do you win the tickets to this terrific new play starring the one-and-only Tyne Daly?
Here’s whatcha do:
Mother and Sons is about a lot of things (you can read more about it in this awesome NY Times piece), but if I only had one word to describe what it was about, I’d sum it up with this one: family.
Give me a couple words and I’d say it was about The New Family.
God, remember what a “family” looked like in the Eisenhower era? Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, and a Dog named Spot.
And this was what we were all supposed to conform to . . .
And now, thankfully, we know that families come in all sorts of configurations . . . and that a true family doesn’t have to consist of two parents of different sexes or the same race or even two parents at all. Every family is different and is defined by the people in it, not by societal monikers.
In M&S, one family member reaches out to another after a long absence (even though at the beginning of the play, they may not realize they are a family at all), and that’s where a whole bunch of healing happens.
Now you have a family. So to enter to win the tickets to M&S, all that you have to do . . . is call (not email) a member of your family that you haven’t spoken to in a while. Just say hi. Catch up. Root them on. Apologize for stealing their matchbox cars when you were 10 (oops, that one may be mine). Whatever, but call.
Comment below the first name of the family member you called and you’ll be entered to win.
I’ll start. I called my little bro, Chris.
Let the calling begin!
