The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to The Trip to Bountiful on Broadway!
I wrestled the Sunday Giveaway back from my Associate Producer on Macbeth and this week I’ve got two tickets to The Trip to Bountiful on Broadway . . . starring Cicely Tyson, Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Vanessa Williams, not to mention Condola Rashad and Tom Wopat. Man, I hope The Stephen Sondheim Theatre has enough big dressing rooms for all those big names.
One of you is gonna see all those biggies for freezies . . . and here’s how you enter.
A lot of people may now know this, but The Trip to Bountiful started out as a “television play” by Horton Foote that premiered way back on March 1, 1953! It was seen on Broadway later that year, but achieved super sized success in 1985 when Horton adapted it for the big screen, producing it as well.
So we often talk about movies that should be made into Broadway musicals or plays or extravaganzicals. But we rarely look at the small screen.
Comment below the name of a TV movie, or even a show itself that you think could make the jump to the stage like Bountiful. Example? The Karen Carpenter Story. Hands down. And, of course, The Golden Girls.
Hit those comments and one of you will win tickets to go on your own Trip to Bountiful!
