The Sunday Giveaway: Two Tickets to Violet on Broadway!
I want to win this giveaway.
I was working on the short-lived Hal Prince directed and Garth “I just got out of prison” Drabinsky produced Candide when Violet premiered at Playwrights Horizons, and just couldn’t get over there to see it. It, along with the original Angels in America and a couple of others, are on my, “I can’t believe I missed that!” list.
Luckily, we’re all going to get another shot.
Just like the lead character in the musical, Violet has taken a long road to Broadway, with a reunion concert in 2003, and the Encores!Off-Center production last summer . . . which launched it on to Broadway this spring.
Previews began just two days ago, and I’m already hearing some pretty exciting things that make me super anxious to see it. And, well, it stars Sutton Foster, so . . . there’s that.
And since I’m technically ineligible to win the two tickets we have to give away, I guess that means one of you will have to win!
Ready to enter? Here’s how . . .
The City Center Encores! Off-Center series, dedicated to reviving choice Off-Broadway pieces in the same way the Encores series brings back the ole chestnut Broadway shows, is what got Violet back on everyone’s radar and on to Broadway. And it has only been around one year?
Comment below with the name of an Off Broadway show that should now get a shot on Broadway . . . and extra credit if you cast it.
Simple! So go and good luck!
