POSITION: Group Sales Manager
DESCRIPTION: The New Victory Theater, a beautifully renovated 499-seat theater for kids and families in the heart of Times Square, has an exciting opportunity for a candidate with strong customer service and sales experience to join its team as Group Sales Manager. Reporting to the Director of Ticket Operations, the full-time position will handle all group sales, with the goal of increasing group sales revenue. Candidates should possess a strong sales drive and have excellent multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated team player, must be committed to maintaining a superior level of customer service at all times and must be detail-oriented, customer-focused and results-driven. Candidate will work closely with Ticket Services and Marketing to identify and maximize group ticket sales opportunities. Duties will include managing group sale campaigns and administration in addition to:
•Creating and fostering relationships with new and current groups
•Generating database analysis of past season group buying trends
•Assisting in creating group sale direct mail pieces
•Processing requests from outside organizations for donated ticket vouchers
•Researching opportunities in tourism and the group sales market
•Assisting in addressing complaints and resolving problems
•Leading occasional Group and VIP tours of the theater
•Generating mailing lists from ticketing software system
•Coordinating and running annual Group Sales Event for area group leaders
•Developing relationships and sales opportunities with outside vendors and neighborhood partners
•General phone sales as needed
•Additional duties as required
Requirements and Qualifications:
•Previous sales, administrative and customer service experience
•Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years’ relevant experience
•Motivated, pro-active and self-directed
•At least 1 year of previous box office experience
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•Ability to organize, prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines
•Understanding of ticketing and general accounting practices
•Ability to coordinate events with multiple departments
•Must be able to work evenings and weekends as needed
•Knowledge of theater
•Computer proficiency a must (MS Word, Excel, Gmail) – experience with computer ticketing software and knowledge of the Tessitura ticketing system a plus
Work schedule follows performance needs, but customarily is Monday through Friday, 9:30am – 6pm.
