WHO: Theatreworks/USA – We The People
SEEKING: George Washington:
Male, 18+, baritenor. Charismatic leader (and lead singer) of the Founding Fathers rock band. He makes girls swoon.
Thomas Jefferson:
Male, 18+, rock tenor. The romantic of the group. He’s a rock star and he knows it. And he’s not afraid to put on a dress if it helps make a point.
John Adams:
Male, 18+, high tenor to B with very strong falsetto. Pugnacious and quick tempered. And he can rap. He’s a pretty cool dude. He’s the drummer for the band.
Benjamin Franklin:
Male 18+, baritone. He may never have been president, but this is one smart guy. The quirky one.
Dawn:
African American woman. 18+ to play 14, soprano with high mix belt to F. Smart, driven, fiercely competitive and ambitious, like the characters of Tracy Flick from Election or Rachel Berry from Glee.
Seeking submissions until November 1, for various roles.
RESPONSIBILITIES: ALL ACTORS ARE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS, and will be required, as such, to lift scenery, costumes and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs (up to 60 lbs).
REQUIREMENTS: This is a musical. All actors must be funny, quirky, versatile performers along the lines of Saturday Night Live or Forbidden Broadway. All actors must be strong singers with a pop sensibility. Seeking a diverse company. Ethnic performers encouraged to submit.
WHEN: Rehearses in NYC: 12/23/10-1/7/11. Performs: 1/8/11-6/12/11. All dates subject to change.
All actors must be available to audition, rehearse, and travel from NYC.
PAY: $460 weekly + $53 per diem
