Scenic Designer – Planet Connections Theater Festival
WHO: Planet Connections Theater Festival
SEEKING: Scenic Designer for The Empress of Sex by Duncan Phlaster. Direction by Glory Kadigan. Choreography by Joe Barros.
SUMMARY: In Ancient Greece, a woman spurned in love, finds a deserted island and sets herself up as the Empress Salacia, decreeing that there shall be no love allowed in her domain, only sex. She gathers some sybaritic acolytes and all is frolicsome mindless fun until Salacia's ex-lover Agis comes to the island in disguise, to attempt to win her back.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Production to be performed at the Upstairs 45 Bleecker Street Theater in June as part of The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity – www.planetconnections.org.
REQUIREMENTS: Seeking a designer who can construct, find and design props/sets. Although the venue is gorgeous, we are still an indie theater festival production.
WHEN: Auditions in late March. Rehearsals in April/May.
PAY: Small stipend. Free tickets to all 50 Planet Connections Theater Productions running in June. Fun times and lots of great networking opportunities!
