POSITION: Associate Producer
DESCRIPTION: Red Bull Theater seeks an Associate Producer. This is a new year-round, part-time position (20 hours per week) that will be integral to both the artistic and management departments of a growing award-winning Off-Broadway theatre company.
The Associate Producer will collaborate with the artistic and managing director of the company in many aspects of executing the company’s season. The Associate Producer’s primary role will be producing the Revelation Reading series (coordinating casting and scheduling, interfacing with theater management, filing contracts and paperwork, preparing scripts & programs, and all day-of work necessary to prepare for readings) and taking the lead on the annual Short New Play Festival submission and selection process. Additional areas of oversight may include: fielding casting and literary inquiries, assisting the managing director with marketing campaigns, assisting the artistic director with planning and management of the classical acting intensives, and assisting with special events and benefits.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, independent worker with a passion for classical theater and an interest in being a part of the leadership team of an Off Broadway theater. Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and communication skills are a must. The ability to interact with staff, interns, colleagues and patrons with professionalism, confidentiality and confidence is essential. A college degree plus experience in artistic producing and/or theatrical management is preferred. Hours will be flexible but must be consistent. Salary is competitive and can include a contribution to employee health plan, if the selected candidate so chooses.
