[ACTOR 1] male; tenor, up to a High A; plays BROTHER BEAR, a 4th grader, he is spunky, fun; the guy everybody wants to have on their team; he loves sports (especially soccer) and is a very good student; it’s important to him to be the best at everything he does
[ACTOR 6] male; baritone; plays GRAMPS, a wise old man, country not city, he loves his wife and family; and FREDDY, cousin and classmate to Brother, he is not as good as Brother at soccer, school, or anything
[FEMALE SWING] female; mezzo soprano belt, up to a D; covers all female roles including; SISTER BEAR, a kindergartner; she is friendly and fun, an energetic, free-spirited little girl; she loves her older brother, but is not above needling him (like any younger sister); MAMA BEAR, warm, wise and witty; she’s the backbone of the Bear family; she wants the best for her cubs and husband; TEACHER JANE, a dedicated, strong teacher; STRANGERS, various people that Sister and Brother run into on their way to school; GRAN, a feisty older lady (Papa’s Mother), who is full of energy and life, helps the family in any way she can; LIZZY, friend and classmate of Brother’s, she is the smartest girl in school and knows it; DOC GRIZZLY, the family’s doctor, a wise old-school doctor; and SILLY GOOSE, just that…she appears in a story/song Papa tells Sister
WHEN: Rehearsals being on June 6th towards an opening of June 25th, at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, and closing on September 4th.
PAY: $11/hour for rehearsals, $55/per show
HOW TO APPLY: Auditions by appointment ONLY will be held in New York on June 1st with callbacks on June 2nd.
