Broadway inched upward last week as the post-holiday market began to stabilize, with total grosses rising 1.09% to $34.7M and attendance climbing to 274,663. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child once again led the pack with a chart-topping $2.65M, playing to nearly full capacity at the Lyric. Hamilton followed closely with $2.19M, continuing to command premium pricing and over 100% capacity, while Wicked dipped from the prior week’s holiday high but still delivered a robust $1.94M on fully sold-out performances at the Gershwin. Also holding strong in the top tier were Chess ($1.69M), The Lion King ($1.67M), and Mamma Mia! ($1.94M), underscoring the continued dominance of long-running and nostalgia-driven titles.Several shows posted notable week-over-week gains. Bug saw the largest jump of the week, surging +$256K as it played to near-capacity houses, while Operation Mincemeat (+$155K), Oh, Mary! (+$130K), and Hell’s Kitchen (+$127K) all enjoyed meaningful momentum.
