Broadway Grosses w/e 4/5/2026

Broadway surged this week, with total grosses climbing 11.86% to $43.24M and attendance jumping to 334,631, fueled by a combination of spring break tourism, multiple nine-performance weeks, and a wave of new previews entering the marketplace. with capacity just over 100%. The Lion King broke the leaderboard this week with $2.82M on a nine-performance week, ending the streak held by Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which came in just below at a hefty $2.80M, with Hamilton following closely behind at $2.59M Wicked and Aladdin also saw strong weeks, grossing $2.12M and 1.83M respectively. Among other strong performers, Moulin Rouge! The Musical grossed 1.52M, MJ climbed to $1.55M, and Stranger Things: The First Shadow rebounded to $1.69M.

Elsewhere, several titles posted notable gains as spring demand accelerated. Every Brilliant Thing continued its standout run at $1.48M, whereas Giant and Dog Day Afternoon remained strong new entries at $1.18M and $1.04M in their first full weeks after opening. Among previews, Beaches: A New Musical began performances at the Majestic, while The Rocky Horror Show, Schmigadoon!, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, and Proof all entered the market, contributing to the expanded roster of 40 productions. Compared to the same week last season, grosses were down a slight 1.36%, though attendance rose 7.46%, signaling strong demand even as average ticket prices softened.
