Broadway Grosses w/e 9/21/2025

Broadway climbed again this week, with total grosses up 6.89% to $32.2M and attendance topping 249,000, aided by the final stretch of NYC Broadway Week promotions. The standout story was Waiting for Godot, which exploded in its first full preview week at the Hudson, grossing $1.82M from just seven performances at a $267 average ticket—one of the strongest preview debuts of the season. Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club also saw a boost in its closing week, rising $191K to $820K and filling nearly 97% of seats. On the flip side, Art, which opened on September 16, posted $315K from a limited three-performance week, down sharply from last week’s near-$1.4M preview tally.Elsewhere, box office leaders held steady. Hamilton remained dominant at $3.6M despite a $181K dip, while Wicked ($2.0M) and The Lion King ($1.78M) continued to anchor the top tier. The Outsiders surged $210K to $1.2M, nearly selling out the Jacobs, and Oh, Mary! crossed the $1.3M mark with one of its best weeks yet. Strong gains also came from Hell’s Kitchen (+$115K), MJ (+$106K), and Hadestown (+$76K), all of which rode late-summer momentum.
