Broadway Grosses w/e 6/9/2019: Winners Claim Prize Money
Week two of the season saw a slight bump of 3% to $35M. Most shows posted increases heading into the Tony Awards on Sunday. The biggest was from To Kill A Mockingbird, which jumped $277K from its previous week.
Hadestown, The Ferryman, and Oklahoma! all took home top prizes at Sunday’s Tony Awards. Each show’s grosses climbed last week, and both musicals were sellouts. Already at $165 for an average ticket, watch for Hadestown to raise prices further to capitalize on the eight trophies it took home Sunday night.
