POSITION: Director of Finance
DESCRIPTION: 321 Theatrical Management, a dynamic, fast-paced office managing Broadway, Off-Broadway and touring productions, seeks candidates with superior accounting and people skills, and a knowledge of commercial theatre to join our senior management team in the position of Director of Finance. He or she will supervise a small finance department and work in collaboration with the General Managers and Company Managers to ensure compliance in the areas of financial reporting, banking, audit and taxes for 321 Theatrical Management, as well as the shows we manage. The Director of Finance oversees the accounts for all of our productions, including WICKED (on Broadway, on tour, and around the world), PETER AND THE STARCATCHER and the new Broadway-bound musical, IF/THEN.
Regular duties of this position consist of: issuing weekly Profit & Loss statements to Producers; acting as institutional contact for all bank representatives; administering the use of Quickbooks company-wide; adjusting and reconciling accrual accounts; liaising with foreign productions regarding invoicing and royalty remittances; processing payroll for office staff; overseeing all income tax payment and year-end reporting; and managing the audit process. In addition to having a knack for numbers, the Director of Finance must also have the ability to look at the big picture, demonstrate initiative, and feel confident in a leadership role. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in upper-level financial management in the theater industry with expert knowledge of general accounting principles and proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
This is a full-time position with office hours of 10am to 6pm, Monday through Friday. Compensation is commensurate with experience and the benefits package includes medical, dental, vacation and 401(k).
