POSITION: Education Programs Associate
DESCRIPTION:The New Victory Theater seeks a dynamic, highly organized, self-motivated arts administrative professional.
A project of The New 42nd Street, The New Victory Theater is New York City’s first and only full-time performing arts theater for kids and families. A 2012 special Drama Desk award-winner, The New Victory presents a season of adventurous multidisciplinary works. These productions and the theater’s nationally-recognized education programs combine to create a unique learning experience for students, teachers and families.
The Education Programs Associate will be the primary liaison and resource for schools and teachers in the New Vic’s School Education Partnership program, with responsibility for ticketing and on-site coordination at education performances. Ideal candidates will have box office and customer service experience and be able to multi-task under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment; experience with the Tessitura software system preferred.
Applicants must have a BA/BS, preferably with an arts and/or arts administration concentration; minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience in the field, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Experience working with teachers and/or children, New York City public schools, and a broad understanding of performing art forms is a plus.
