Head Electrician – The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC)

WHO: The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), located in the heart of a newly emergent downtown Newark, is the sixth largest performing arts center in the United States. Home of the Grammy Award-winning New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, NJPAC has been widely cited as a catalyst in the revitalization of New Jersey’s largest city and has attracted over six million visitors, including one million children, in its first 12 seasons of operation.

SEEKING: We are presently recruiting for a Head Electrician

REQUIREMENTS: The Head Electrician oversees all stage lighting, projection and special effects concerns. Candidate must have five or more years of experience supervising Assistant Head Electricians. Knowledge of Lightwrite and other related programs required. Other requirements include experience with all lighting equipment as well as lighting design. Must be able to plan ahead, facilitate problem solving, take initiative, work independently, be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects and performances simultaneously while working a flexible schedule. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects from 50 to 100 pounds and have knowledge of the safest methods to be used in performing heavy manual labor. This position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement with IATSE Local 21 and is available immediately.
