POSITION: Manager, Individual Donor Programs

DESCRIPTION: New York Live Arts, home of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, and one of the country’s premier organizations devoted to contemporary dance and movement-based art, is seeking a Development Associate or Manager of Donor Programs to join its small development staff. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Manager plays a critical role in New York Live Arts’ efforts to strengthen its support from individuals and family foundations to sustain the operations of New York Live Arts.

Responsibilities:

*Write, prepare and oversee the production of solicitation and acknowledgement materials for individual donors, including letters, direct mail pieces, e-mail campaigns, and web-site giving opportunities.
*In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, coordinate the solicitation and renewal of individual gifts at every level; track and seek pledge fulfillment.
*Manage and monitor the fulfillment of donor benefits. Steward major donors in the use of benefits through direct and consistent contact. Serve as a point of contact for donors and ensure the resolution and documentation of problems or special requirements discovered in this contact. Handle VIP ticket requests.
*Collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization to develop, implement and oversee their participation in donor programs.
*Collaborate with the Special Events Associate to mount cultivation and stewardship events in the context of individual giving programs.
*Enter new individual gifts in the CRM database, generate gift acknowledgments and update donor records. Report on and analyze individual donor revenues. Generate donor lists for programs, website and other purposes. Reconcile Individual Giving revenues with Finance as required.
*Using the CRM database, external resources and information from internal sources, develop and research new prospects and assist in the preparation of donor profiles, briefing and other solicitation materials, as required.

Qualifications:

Three or more years previous experience in fundraising; familiarity with fundraising databases, preferably an integrated ticketing/donor management system (e.g., Tessitura, Patron Manager); excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills; comfort working with board and high level donors; poise, tolerance for diverse viewpoints, and a sensitivity to the artistic process. This position requires occasional weekend and evening hours in connection with special events and performances.
