POSITION: Managing Director
DESCRIPTION:The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company, an award-winning non-profit theatre in southern Vermont, seeks a Managing Director. S/he reports to the Board of Directors, working in partnership with Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler to deliver the theatre’s vision and long-range plan, with primary responsibility for administration, financial management, marketing and sales.
Entering its 78th year, Weston operates a summer producing season of plays and musicals, classics and new work and year-round Education and New Works programs on a budget of $1.6 million. The company is in the midst of a $10 million capital campaign to create a year-round campus for play development, building affiliations with artists, companies, playwright centers and commercial producers in New York and across the country.
Qualifications:
• business or arts administration degree preferred
• minimum seven years financial management experience in non-profit theatre
• marketing, systems and information management expertise
Candidates should have a passion for theatre and budgeting; proven ability to manage, multi-task and prioritize; and interest in living and working in a rural New England setting. Expected start date: July 1, 2014.
