POSITION: Marketing and Press Manager
DESCRIPTION: TADA! Youth Theater, the Drama Desk Award-winning home for original family musicals, classes, school programs and more, requires a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter to act as Marketing & Press Manager. This position is responsible for developing a marketing plan with the assistance of Managing Director and other departments, and executing said plan to promote productions and year-round classes and camps as well as maintaining and growing brand identity, web presence (including extensive social media), media/press relationships and communications, patron data through an Access-based system and overall public recognition of the company. The Marketing & Press Manager manages a House Manager and Box Office Manager and will report to and work closely with the Managing Director.
The ideal candidate is extremely detail-oriented, results driven, a creative, entrepreneurial thinker, an excellent writer and designer with exemplary skills at achieving results and a collaborative worker, who can roll with the punches in a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will have excellent problem-solving skills; attention to detail; experience and creativity in interactive marketing, work well under pressure; take initiative, maintain fiscal responsibility, display flexibility in managing issues; and be able to multi-task many assignments of equal priority.
Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
o articulating and monitoring the organization’s brands
o raising the institution’s profile
o developing new audiences for classes, camps and productions
o maximizing registrations and ticket sales
o developing and maintaining relationships with press/media contacts though press releases and pitches
o Co-developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan and calendar
o Identifying, cultivating and soliciting potential community and promotional partners
o Ad/graphic design and design application
o 6-8 Direct Mail campaigns each year including shows, classes and camps and special events
o Work with Business Manager and Managing Director on budget maintenance, projections (including annual and cash flow) and reconciliations; and
College degree and hands-on experience in NY theater marketing required. Salary in low $40’s.
