SEEKING: Performers for Skippyjon Jones
This is a musical. All actors must be funny, quirky, versatile performers along the lines of Saturday Night Live or Forbidden Broadway. All actors must be strong singers with a pop sensibility.
ALL ACTORS MUST BE AVAILABLE TO AUDITION, REHEARSE, AND PERFORM FROM NYC.
ALL ACTORS ARE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS, and will be required, as such, to lift scenery, costumes and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs (up to 60 lbs).
SEEKING AN ETHNICALLY DIVERSE COMPANY OF ACTORS FOR:
Skippyjon:
18+ tenor, non-Caucasian. The hero, a Siamese Cat with a big imagination.
Mama Junebug/Alfredo Buzzito:
comic character actor, 18+ baritenor, to play multiple roles including a mama Cat and evil Bumblebee Bandit
Rosalita:
18+ mezzo with pop belt, to play feisty Chuihuahua, the only girl in the pack.
Poquito Tito:
18+ Sop with Pop Belt, to play Skippyjon’s best pal.
Don Diego:
18+ baritone to play pack leader of the Chihuahuas.
Equity audition procedures are NOT in effect. No Equity monitor provided. Producer runs all aspects of the audition.
WHEN: Rehearsals: 5/2/11-5/16/11. Performs: 5/17/11-5/26/11 (4 week in-town project)
PAY: $460/week minimum Actor/ASM

Notes/What to bring:
Prepare 16 bars of a contemporary pop or musical theatre song, and bring music in correct key. Piano accompaniment will be provided. Actors will also read from sides, which will be provided at the audition.
Bring picture and resume, stapled together.
