SEEKING: Part time Office Manager for Motivational Speaker/Performing Artist.
ATMOSPHERE: Fast, fun, joyous, creative, intense, detail oriented.
WHEN: Start date for paid training period: mid-May to July 1, 2010 (10-15 hrs per week), Start date for work: July 1, 2010 (30 hours per week)
HOURS: Approx 30 hours/week starting July 1. Work hours are between 10 AM and 6 PM. Could lead to full time position based on job performance.
COMMITMENT: 1 year minimum
PAY: Hourly for training; salary for part time work; fee commensurate with experience; potential bonus at year end based on job performance
LOCATION: West Village in Manhattan. (A few projects can be completed from home; the majority will take place at the West Village office.)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: An exciting opportunity to connect with a myriad of industries from motivational speaking to publishing to film making to the performing arts – and to be the organizing support system for a highly busy individual. Ideal for someone interested in both performing arts and business. You will have the opportunity to work on your own for days at a time due to the speaker’s travel schedule, and when she’s back in NYC, to work closely together with her. Your responsibilities will include in part:
-Corresponding with Clients, Vendors, & Booking Agents (Extensive email and phone)
-Managing & Updating Calendar
-Arranging/ Booking/Managing Travel schedule
-Assembling & Mailing Promo kits, DVD orders, etc
-Maintaining and updating contact data base
-Paying office bills; coordinating with accountant
-Managing office inventory and office equipment (fax, printer, etc)
-Overseeing and coordinating website maintenance & construction
-Coordinating product development and distribution
-Light graphic design of articles, brochures, products, etc.
-Taking care of personal errands & items for speaker as needed
SKILLS REQUIRED: High-level organizational skills; exceptional phone manner, speaking, diction, grammar, spelling and writing skills a must; superb people skills; proficiency in PC and Mac and technology; Quickbooks knowledge a plus but not required; creativity; ability to self motivate and work solo; ability to work as part of a team in a fast moving, fun and highly professional atmosphere. Positive, joyous outlook on life a must.
