SEEKING: Props Supervisor
RESPONSIBILTIES: S/he will manage the general repair, construction, maintenance and/or restock of all props and supplies for the production, troubleshoot technical issues, act as Preset Lead during preparation of nightly performances, and serve as a member of the safety committee. As department supervisor, s/he will lead the scheduling, maintenance, inventory and communication systems for the department. This position will create and manage the props department budget and other administrative needs in conjunction with the Production Manager. The successful candidate will assist with the hiring, training and creation of employee evaluations.
REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate should have 5+ years experience in a prop building capacity, experience managing prop consumables with a live theatrical production and be able to lead a team. Experience with a long running show would be beneficial. The successful candidate will be a highly collaborative, proactive problem solver who is able to inspire staff while multi-tasking within a busy work environment. Experience with scenic construction is a plus. S/he must have exemplary people, management, and organizational skills and ability to run and lead a busy department through a fluctuating show schedule that occasionally requires night and weekend hours.
